Contact Learn Cantonese
We read every message. Before you write, it is worth checking the three sections below — between them they account for most of the mail we get, and each takes about a minute to fix.

There is no sound, or the wrong accent
The app has no built-in recordings; it speaks through the Cantonese text-to-speech voice installed on your device. If nothing plays, that voice is missing.
On Android, install Google Text-to-Speech and add its Cantonese (Hong Kong) voice data — the app offers a direct link when it notices the voice is missing. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices › Chinese and download a Cantonese voice.
Also check your media volume rather than your ringer volume — they are separate on most phones, and a silenced ringer does not mute text-to-speech. There is a step-by-step version of this in the Audio & voices section of the help page.

Open Settings → Restore Purchases. The app also re-checks your purchase with Google Play every time it launches, so the usual cause is being signed in to a different Google account from the one you bought it on. Check the account in the Play Store app, then reopen Learn Cantonese.
Refunds are handled by Google Play, not by us — use Play Store → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history to request one.
My progress disappeared
Learn Cantonese stores everything on your device only. There is no account and no cloud backup, so uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, or moving to a new phone will start you from scratch. This is a deliberate privacy trade-off — we hold no data about you — but it does mean lost progress cannot be restored. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Learn Cantonese on Google PlayWhat to include
A bug we can reproduce gets fixed; one we cannot usually does not. Please tell us:
- The app name — Learn Cantonese — and whether you are using the Android app or the web version.
- The version and build number, from Settings → App Information.
- Your device and OS version (for example "Pixel 7, Android 15").
- Where in the app it happened — the screen name is enough.
- What you expected, and what actually happened instead.
- A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see.
We are a small team and reply in English. Please do not send passwords, payment details or any other sensitive information — we never need them, and we have no account system to use them with.
Reporting a content mistake
Corrections are genuinely welcome and we act on them. If a translation, pronunciation or example looks wrong, send us the exact entry — the word or sentence itself plus the screen you found it on — and what you think it should say. That is far more useful than a general note that a section has errors, and it lets us fix the underlying data rather than guess.
