We read every message. Before you write, it is worth checking the three sections below — between them they account for most of the mail we get, and each takes about a minute to fix.

There is no sound, or the wrong accent
The app has no built-in recordings; it speaks through the Mandarin text-to-speech voice installed on your device. If nothing plays, that voice is missing.
On Android, open Profile and use Open device TTS settings to install Google Text-to-Speech and its Chinese voice data. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices › Chinese and download a voice.
Also check your media volume rather than your ringer volume — they are separate on most phones, and a silenced ringer does not mute text-to-speech. There is a step-by-step version of this in the Audio & voices section of the help page.
My purchase is missing on this device
Open Profile → Restore Purchases. The app also re-checks your purchase with the store every time it launches, so the usual cause is being signed in to a different account from the one you bought it on: your Apple Account on iPhone or iPad, your Google account on Android. Check the account, then reopen the app.
Refunds are handled by the store, not by us: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google Play under Play Store → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history.
My progress disappeared
Learn Chinese stores everything on your device only. There is no account and no cloud backup, so uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, or moving to a new phone will start you from scratch. This is a deliberate privacy trade-off — we hold no data about you — but it does mean lost progress cannot be restored. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Bugs, questions, corrections to the learning content, or feature ideas — all to the same address.
idatagear@gmail.comWhat to include
A bug we can reproduce gets fixed; one we cannot usually does not. Please tell us:
- The app name — Learn Chinese — and whether you are using the iPhone, iPad or Android app, or the web version.
- The version and build number, from Profile → App Information.
- Your device and OS version (for example "Pixel 7, Android 15").
- Where in the app it happened — the screen name is enough.
- What you expected, and what actually happened instead.
- A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see.
We are a small team and reply in English. Please do not send passwords, payment details or any other sensitive information — we never need them, and we have no account system to use them with.
Reporting a content mistake
Corrections are genuinely welcome and we act on them. If a translation, pronunciation or example looks wrong, send us the exact entry — the word or sentence itself plus the screen you found it on — and what you think it should say. That is far more useful than a general note that a section has errors, and it lets us fix the underlying data rather than guess.
